Jerusalem

Jerusalem is not one tour but many, so we build it around you. Pick the thread that pulls you, or tell me what you love and I will build the day around that.

Every one of these is a private tour with a licensed guide, in English or Hebrew.

Choose your Jerusalem

The city of three religions

Jewish, Christian and Muslim Jerusalem in one day: the Wohl Archaeological Museum, the Southern and Western walls of the Temple Mount, the Huldah Gates and Robinson's Arch, the Hurva Synagogue, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, and when access allows, the Temple Mount / Haram al-Sharif itself.

Mount Zion and the ramparts walk

We start on the ramparts, walking the top of the Old City walls. Then Mount Zion: King David's Tomb, the Room of the Last Supper and Pentecost, and the Dormition Abbey, and up on the roof above David's Tomb, where between 1948 and 1967 this was the closest a Jew could stand to the Temple Mount and Yitzhak Ben-Zvi had a room built to look out from.

The Via Dolorosa

The stations of the Way of Sorrows through the Muslim and Christian Quarters and into the Church of the Holy Sepulchre itself, and what pilgrims have done on this street for seventeen centuries.

The Women of Jerusalem

Queens, mothers, wives, prophetesses and pilgrims, and how they shaped this land and the history of the world: Huldah the prophetess, Alexandra Shlomzion, Mary and Mary Magdalene, Helena, Egeria, Eudocia, Melisende, Judith Montefiore, Baba Krisha of the Berman bakery and Franziska Baruch, who drew the Hebrew letters on Israel's emblem.

Christmas and Hanukkah in Jerusalem

The Christian Quarter strung with lights and carols in a dozen languages between the walls: the Christmas fair and the tree at the New Gate, the Notre Dame Centre, Christ Church by Jaffa Gate, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, and Santa's House in the Old City. At Hanukkah, lamps burning in the doorways of the Jewish Quarter, street after street.
