Come for the turquoise sea and perfect photos. Leave with a completely different Haifa in your head.
Haifa is a city of prophets, monks, refugees and dreamers, suspended between Mount Carmel and the Mediterranean. It is Israel’s third largest city and the one most often called its most tolerant: Jews, Arabs, Christians, Muslims and Bahá’ís share these slopes, and you feel it in the street. We’ll visit Stella Maris, hear stories of Elijah, Napoleon, a secret wartime radio station and an Italian submarine, continue to the turquoise waters of Bat Galim for some of the city’s most photogenic views, then enter the Bahá’í Gardens and Shrine of the Báb to discover why this young world religion chose Haifa as its spiritual centre. At the Ursula Malbin Sculpture Garden, overlooking the bay, we’ll connect Herzl’s vision of the “city of the future” with the Exodus and the many people who found refuge here. We’ll also walk the German Colony and the port area. You can add the Mountain Jews’ synagogue, the most beautiful synagogue in the world, and the hip Talpiot neighbourhood for a gastronomic adventure.

★★★★★“I grew up here and walk these streets every day, but I never knew any of the facts Maria shared… she is easily the best, most interesting guide I’ve ever met.”
★★★★★“We were really impressed by Maria’s deep and diverse information… she connects the past to the present of our country and the people of Israel.”

★★★★★“I strongly recommend — whether it’s your first time in the area, or if you have already been in this area several times.”
